The Province of Manitoba announced today that the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region is being upgraded to Code Red, effective Monday, November 2nd, 2020 for a period of two weeks.
Basketball Activities Halted - Basketball Manitoba Announcement
Basketball Manitoba has announced that all basketball-related activities are to be halted effective Friday, October 30th, 2020 for a period of two weeks.
WMBA Trainings Sessions - Postponed/Rescheduled
With the recent announcements from the Province of Manitoba, Sport Manitoba, and Basketball Manitoba, the WMBA has been mandated to postpone and reschedule all programming for the next two weeks.
The updated schedule* for WMBA Training sessions is now:

Jr NBA and Northstar Training programs will also be pushed back two weeks and will carry over into the new year.
*These timelines could change again with another public announcement. The province will reassess in two weeks.
The WMBA is hoping to start back up as soon as it's given the go-ahead from Basketball Manitoba and the Province. In the meantime, we urge everyone to do their part:
- Reduce the number of close contacts outside your household and avoid closed-in or crowded spaces.
- Stay home if sick.
- Wash/sanitize your hands, cover your cough, and physically distance when you are with people outside your household.
- If you cannot physically distance, you should wear a mask to help reduce your risk.
- Get a flu shot.
