WMBA Updates:

The health and safety of all participants in sport, including players, coaches, staff, officials, fans, family, volunteers and the general public, is of the utmost importance to the WMBA. In light of ongoing concern resulting from the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and in accordance with Manitoba Health recommendation, all WMBA programming will be postponed until further notice. The WMBA Executive Committee feels this is the best course of action for the safety and well being of our athletes, parents, coaches, officials, staff, and all their families. We recognize the tremendous effort from our volunteer convenors, coaches, board, and of course our athletes and families that have been put forth all year. The basketball community is growing bigger and bigger each season and we expect that we will all come together again very soon, even stronger!

 

With the cancellation of all school permits, there is no way to postpone the playoffs, they have been canceled outright. We have been thinking of ways to award teams without naming a season champion. We will be putting together team packages, T-Shirts to the #1 and #2 seeds of each scoring division (Ages 11-18) and to all teams age 7-10 like we normally would have. We will be working with your convenors to get these packages picked up and distributed to all these teams. Please keep in mind that this may take some time, we want to make sure that everyone is taking the proper precautions and practicing social distancing wherever possible. The health and safety of all our participants are of the utmost importance to the WMBA.
